Alex Orvos, Jr., 84, died on February 13, 2022, peacefully in his sleep at his home in Jefferson, Ohio.
Alex was born June 28, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Alex and Julie (Rabb) Orvos, Sr.
Alex graduated from Austinburg High School in 1956 where he played baseball and basketball during his time there. Alex proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army.
He married the love of his life, Emma Hill on June 13, 1959, together they shared sixty-two wonderful years of marriage.
Alex was employed by Reliance Electric as a machine operator for thirty-three years until his retirement in December 1997.
Alex was a dedicated member of Eagleville Bible Church; he volunteered his time as a little league manager and as a midget football coach. He was an avid, die-hard, lifelong Cleveland Browns fan and also supported the Ohio State University Buckeyes football and basketball teams. Alex and Emma have traveled all over the country on her Harley Davidson motorcycle and together they have created wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. Above all, nothing else mattered to him more than his family; they were his true source of happiness and joy.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Emma (Hill) Orvos, his beloved children, Kevin (Linda) Orvos and Mark Orvos, his grandchildren: Brooke (Justin) Stowers, Kevin Orvos, Jessica Orvos and Emma Orvos her great-grandchildren: Tanner, Bentley, Opal, Allison, Donavan, Avery, Sophia and another on the way.
He is predeceased by his parents, Alex and Julia Orvos, his daughter, Patricia Ann Orvos at birth, his stepdaughter, Tina Orvos and his brother, Peter Orvos.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a funeral service following immediately at 1:00 p.m. at the Jefferson Home of Fleming and Billman Funeral Directors, 49 West Jefferson Street. A burial will immediately follow the funeral service at Oakdale Cemetery, 328 North Market Street in Jefferson.
