Wood Brothers Racing driver Matt DiBenedetto made his Midget debut on July 9 driving the No.91. He teamed up with fitness and lifestyle company Barbell Apparel for running, which spawned new merchandise. DiBenedetto and Barbell have just released a limited edition shirt.
The NASCAR Cup Series driver tweeted the first images of the jersey on Wednesday, July 14. The black and red jerseys feature the No.91 Midget race car, as well as a black and white photo of DiBenedetto’s face. Following the styling of other NASCAR shirts, the new merchandise features a stylized back with # 91 and “Matty D”. Ahead of the July 9 race at Airport Raceway in Kansas, Barbell Apparel spoke with Heavy for an exclusive interview. Athlete Director Kyle Bundra explained the Midget racing car sponsorship was an example of their support, but said there would be more in the future.
Bundra told Heavy the sponsorship is part of a growing relationship between DiBenedetto and the company. Bundra then revealed that the special edition shirt was on the horizon before teasing other potential collaborations.
“We just want to help Matt where it makes sense to us,†Bundra told Heavy. “He’s just a great guy.
