Washington Nationals’ injury list grows; however, he did not claim slugger Josh Bell who received a clean MRI this morning on his knee. Unfortunately, Hunter Harvey landed on the 10-day IL with a right pronator strain, and utility Ehire Adrianza was moved to the 60-day IL to make room on the 40-man roster. Adrianza is dealing with a quad pull.
Added to the list is Erasmo Ramirez, 31, who was the top reliever for Triple-A Rochester. We wrote this Monday fights Ramirez, “Erasmo Ramirez, 31, has a K-to-BB ratio of 12:1 and a WHIP of 0.71. He worked on his lead and got swing and miss moves and ground balls. He also didn’t allow a run in his 7.0 innings of work.
The Nats will start left-hander Josh Rogers today, and Bell is in the starting lineup, which came as a surprise to many. To get another southpaw in the lineup, manager Dave Martinez will keep Yadiel Hernandez in the starting lineup with Lane Thomas on the bench.
For the Diamondbacks, they have Zach Davies right on the mound today in this series finale. Davies was signed in late March as a free agent after pitching last year for the Cubs. He was a 2011 26th round draft pick by the Baltimore Orioles.
