Games for the 2021 Big Ten / ACC Challenge were announced on Tuesday, and it will be a familiar enemy for the Indiana women’s basketball team.
The Hoosiers will host North Carolina State on December 2 at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall for a rematch of the Sweet Sixteen game last March in San Antonio. IU upset the seeded Wolfpack in that match at the Alamodome, 73-70, to qualify for the Elite Eight for the first time in school history. All five of Indiana starters scored in double digits in that game and all five starters return for the Hoosiers in 2021-22, led by All-Americans Mackenzie Holmes and Grace Berger.
The match will come a week after IU faces defending national champion Stanford in the Pink Flamingo Championship in the Bahamas.
Indiana holds an 8-5 record in the Big Ten / ACC Challenge and is on a two-game winning streak in the event, which did not take place in 2020 due to COVID-19. It will be the first home game for IU since hosting Louisville in 2017 and the second meeting with NC State at the event. The Wolfpack won 84-70 in Raleigh, NC, in 2016.
Other clashes will be North Carolina to Minnesota, Nebraska to Wake Forest, Ohio State to Syracuse, Georgia Tech to Purdue, Rutgers to Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech to Wisconsin, Florida State to Illinois, Iowa to Duke, Miami to Maryland, Michigan to Louisville, Notre Dame in Michigan State, Northwestern in Clemson, and Penn State in Boston College.
Hours of play and TV designations will be announced at a later date.
