On July 17, 2021, the 35th Annual Bob Baish Memorial Golf Tournament was held at the Cumberland Gold Club. Bob was a local businessman who owned Bob Baish Glass and Body Shop. He was passionate about sports and strongly supported the communities of Carlisle and Newville. Along with his supporters, he started the Newville midget football program, served as president of the Newville Little League, and was the PIAA official for the Carlisle YMCA and Big Spring swim and dive events. Bob was instrumental in purchasing a property to expand the Newville Little League playing fields for the senior level playoffs in Cumberland County. After years of the proceeds from this tournament going to the American Heart Association and the Cancer Association, the family decided to use the proceeds to complete the expansion of these fields. After the work was done, the family decided that another way to honor Bob was to support the local Central Pennsylvania Hospice. The hospice is always there when help is needed beyond the love and care of the family in a time of tragedy to provide support and strength. So, to all 144 golfers, loyal sponsors and volunteers, we had a successful tournament! Our gratitude to the committee of Bill Farmer, Ken Wiser, Roger Kelly, Jim, Richard and Amy Baish, Jane Ewing and Tiffany Grace and to the 144 golfers for making this tournament a success! The Baish family hope everyone has a good time, and with all the support of the sponsors, golfers and the committee, Jim, Jane and Dick were able to donate $ 5,000 to Hospice of Pa. At name of their father! Thank you very much to everyone who supported this event!
