The Kirkland Lake Gold Miners signed a homegrown product, signing 17-year-old Nolan Ouellette for the upcoming season.

The 2005-born striker was an affiliate player with the club last season, playing three games, while struggling with the Great North Midget League’s New Liskeard Cubs U18 AAA. The 5’10”, 175-pound player had 16 points in 25 games with the Cubs last season.
Miner’s head coach and general manager said: “”we liked what we saw from Nolan last season on limited duty, he goes up and down the ice, he has good skills and is very coachable, we We are delighted to add this young man to our lineup.”
In the meantime, JP Scaringi will be back with the Gold Miners this season. The versatile forward born in 2003, 5’10”, 185 lbs will be back for his second season with the club; is looking to build on his rookie junior season which saw him score 21 points in 41 games.
Coach Smart said, “We are counting on JP to be one of our on-ice leaders this year, and we expect great things from him as he matures as a junior player.
And finally the club will organize a general meeting / information session for all those who are interested or would be interested in helping the Gold Miners for the 2022-2023 season. This session will take place on Thursday, June 30 starting at 6:00 p.m. in the council room of the Joe Mavrinac Community Complex.
