The South Boston Recreation Department hosted its fourth week of games in the Midget basketball league on Thursday, with the Wizards beating the Sixers and the Comets beating the Hawks.
In the first game of the day, the Wizards defeated the Sixers with a final score of 32-28.
Griffin Bryant led the Wizards to victory with 16 points, 10 of which came from inside the paint.
The Sixers were led by Drew Morgan, who scored a game-high 18 points, 14 of which came from inside the paint.
In Game 2, the Comets defeated the Hawks with a final score of 24-10.
The Comets spread their score as they trailed Dejuan Faulkner, who scored five points, four of them inside the paint.
The Hawks were led by Javion Hamlett, who scored four runs, all of which came from under the rim.
The Comets remain the only undefeated team in the midget basketball league with a 4-0 record.
The next games are Thursday with the Sixers (1-3) taking on the Hawks (1-3) at 7 p.m. and the Comets (4-0) taking on the Wizards (2-2) at 8 p.m.
The South Boston Recreation Department hosted its third week of games for the Junior Teens basketball league on Thursday, with the Knicks picking up the win over the Hornets with a final score of 43-27.
The Knicks dominated inside scoring 40 of their 43 points from inside the paint.
Tyler Ford and Caleb Pointer scored 14 points apiece, all from inside the paint for the Knicks.
The Hornets were led by Henry Midkiff, who scored 10 points, all from inside the paint.
The Junior Teens basketball league resumes play Thursday with the Celtics (0-2) taking on the Knicks (3-0) at 6 p.m.
The PeeWee basketball league held its fifth week of games on Dec. 20 and its sixth week of games on Monday.
On Monday, the Celtics beat the Nets with a final score of 20-11. The Blue Devils defeated the Explorers with a final score of 12-4. The Cougars defeated the Warriors with a final score of 38-16.
On December 20, the Warriors defeated the Blue Devils with a final score of 19-15. The Cougars defeated the Celtics with a final score of 29-12. The Nets beat the Explorers with a final score of 17-13 in overtime.
The next PeeWee basketball league games are Saturday with the Explorers (1-5) taking on the Cougars (6-0) at 10 a.m., the Celtics (5-1) taking on the Warriors (2-4) at 11 a.m. and the Blue Devils (3-3) playing the Nets (1-5) at noon.
The South Boston Recreation Department recently held its third week of games for the Senior Teen basketball league when the Pistons defeated the Spurs with a final score of 38-32.
Spurs were leading at half-time with a score of 19-17.
However, the Pistons bounced back after halftime scoring 21 points in the second half.
The Pistons were led by Joshua Williams, who scored a game-high 14 points, 12 of which came from inside the paint.
Nyshareck Watkins led Spurs with nine points, eight of which came from inside the paint.
The Pistons are now 2-1 this season, and Spurs will be looking to bounce back and even their records to 2-2 when they meet again on Thursday.
