Paxson sweeps Rushville

Joey Paxson won two features on the 4th of July at Rush County Fairgrounds during the All Star Circuit of Champions TQ Midgets stop on the local dirt road.

Paxson won the first feature ahead of Rylan Gray, Cory Clay, Tate Martz and Robbie Roland, rounding out the top five.

The second feature was a 22-lap event honoring Rush County’s Bicentennial. Paxson took home the special event trophy, winning ahead of Martz, Gray, Matthew Hedrick and Stephen Davis.

Indiana bulls

The Indiana Bulls are expanding into the area.

In addition to its Indianapolis teams, the Bulls will expand to Southeast Indiana in the 2022-23 season for 8U players.

The first tryout for the 2023 team will be at 10 a.m. on July 30 at Ceraland Park in Columbus. Prospective players cannot turn 9 before May 1, 2022.

RMHF golf outing

The Rush Memorial Hospital Foundation golf outing is scheduled for August 5. On the day of the event, registration is at 9 a.m. with a tee time of 10 a.m. at Antler Pointe Golf Course in Rushville.

The Batesville Athletic Boosters will host the 34th Annual Bulldog Open Golf Tournament at Hillcrest Country Club on Friday, July 22.

The four-man race is open to the public and will begin at 11 a.m.

Golfers can register as a team of four or individually. There are also hole and event sponsorship opportunities.

Lady Lions Volleyball Camp

Little Lady Lion Volleyball Camp is scheduled for July 18-22 for students in grades 4-8 at Memorial Gym Addition. Students in grades 4 to 6 will have camp from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and students in grades 7 to 8 will have camp from 11 a.m. to noon. The cost of camp is $30 and includes a camp t-shirt.
