The Clarkson Golden Knights’ women’s hockey program is excited to welcome 10 new faces for the 2021-22 season. The incoming group achieved a high level of success, both on and off the ice, before arriving at Clarkson. Their high work ethic, character and collective commitment will help our program continue to grow and compete nationally. The coaching staff look forward to working with these talented individuals and welcoming them to the #CGKFamily.

Here are your new Knights 2021-2021 in alphabetical order:

Gretchen Branton will wear # 18 for green and gold. The incoming freshman is a left forward from Corcoran, MN. Coach Desrosiers said: “We are extremely happy to welcome Gretchen to the Clarkson family. Gretchen comes to Potsdam from Wayzata High School in Minnesota, where she ended her hugely successful high school career as a candidate for Ms. Hockey in Minnesota. At Wayzata, Gretchen had a knack for finding teammates and the back of the net consistently. His speed, hockey sense and passing ability will be a great addition to our roster. We can’t wait to have Gretchen in the green and gold. ”

Anne Cherkowski is a transfer from the University of Minnesota. Anne is a right forward from Coldstream, BC. She played 13 games last year for the Gophers, scoring 1 goal and 5 assists. “Anne comes to us from the University of Minnesota as a freshman transfer. We can’t wait to see what Anne can do in our roster. The experience she has gained as a leader of her team, as well. that winning gold and silver medals with Team Canada at the U18 World Championships in 2019 and 2020, as well as an academic year under her belt, will help her make the transition to Clarkson smoothly. “Said coach Desrosiers. Laurence Frenette is a right forward from Boisbriand, Que. The freshman will wear # 15 for the Knights. Jenna goodwin is a left forward from Sherwood Park, Alta. Jenna is a new signing who will wear No.12 this season. “Jenna comes to us from Alberta, where she has had great success in her minor hockey career, winning the Midget Esso Cup twice. Olivia hanson is a transfer from St. Cloud State University. She will wear the # 9 for green and gold. Baylee kirwan will wear # 10 this season for Clarkson. Kirwin is a left forward from Gull Lake, Saskatchewan. Haley winn is a 2nd generation Clarkson athlete, her father played baseball for the Golden Knights. Haley will wear number 4 and is a right back. Coach Desrosiers on Haley, “Haley is from Rochester who has been waiting for a long time to don the green and gold. She ended her career at Selects Bishop Kearney HS in Rochester as the team’s most decorated defenseman and was the team’s captain. to gain international experience with the United States U18 Women’s National Team, winning gold and silver in 2019 and 2020.
