After not operating in 2020 and having only a limited schedule last year, the John H. Bower Sunday School Basketball League plans to return to a normal season.
A general membership meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 24 at 7 p.m. at St. John-Newberry United Methodist Church, 2101 Newberry Street.
Churches with K-12 youth interested in participating should either attend the meeting or contact the league on its Facebook page.
The league, which was established in 1921, operates with beginner peewee, peewee, midget, junior and senior divisions with games played on Saturdays. The purpose of the league is to develop character through athletic competition by making Sunday school or church attendance a requirement of membership.
All area churches with K-12 youth who wish to participate should attend or contact SU on its Facebook page.
